We were blessed with a sunny, windless day. This allowed us to introduce the New Entries to the Sea Cadet way of life, ie The Sea in Sea Cadet means you will get wet.
With safety numbers on standby, the water orientation phase commenced which proved to be a challenge to a few. This was overcome by the reassuring presence of the instructors and the support of their peers. This exercise allowed for an assessment of their individual ability when in water as well as provided an opportunity to introduce the foundational concepts of teamwork and leadership.
